OUR STORY

Our CEO was born in 1964. At the age of seven he started collecting coins and banknotes as a hobby and has continued to collect to this day. After his schooling he decided to take up an apprenticeship in lithographic printing and building.

At his age of 26 he decided to join the Australia Army.

Military History

Sergeant P.V. Hooper

Sergeant Peter Victor Hooper was born in Paddington, Sydney in 1964. He completed his schooling in Sydney. He enlisted into the Australian Army in 1990 with the intention of becoming an Infantryman. On completion of his recruit training he was assigned to the Royal Australian Corps Artillery and was posted to 108th Field Battery, 4th Field Regiment (108 Fd Bty) in August 1990.

Sergeant Hooper served as an Artilleryman at 108th Field Battery and was posted to A Field Battery, 8th/12th Medium Regiment in 1993. Sergeant Hooper corps transferred to Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps in 1994. Since then his other postings have included the 1st Psychology Unit, Headquarters Joint Movements Group (HQJMOVGP), Land Headquarters (FORCOMD) 8th Signal Regiment, University of New South Wales Regiment as the Regimental Chief Clerk, and 2nd Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR). Sergeant Hooper’s last posting before retirement in 2019 was at 3rd Combat Services Support Battalion (3CSSB).

Sergeant Hooper’s operational experience began with a rotation to East Timor as part of the International Force East Timor (INTERFET) and as part of a third rifle company to the 3rd Royal Australian Regiment in 1999. In 2001 he corps transferred to the Royal Australian Ordnance Corps. In 2004 he was posted to Headquarters 1st Movements Group as Chief Clerk and provided administration support to Operation SUMATRA ASSIST. In 2009, Sergeant Hooper deployed on OP VICFIRES ASSIST and in 2019 he was deployed on OP FLOOD ASSIST in Townsville.

During his service in the Australian Army, Sergeant Hooper has attained numerous qualifications and been employed in many diversified roles directly and indirectly related to his trade.

Sergeant Hooper is a married member and now resides in Townsville since his retirement. He is passionate about outdoor activities such as fishing and camping. He spends his spare time at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium watching his NRL team, The North Queensland Cowboys.

Even while serving his country, he was still an avid coin and banknote collector.
